Feature Release: Enhanced Global Search

At Lawcus, we know that in a busy law firm, every second counts. Whether you’re rushing to pull up a file for a client call or looking for a lead from three months ago, your practice management software should keep pace with you, not slow you down.

That’s why we’ve continued improving Global Search based directly on your feedback. This makes it even faster, more flexible, and easier to use.

Here’s what has changed from our last release:

Precision Filtering with “Show More”

We’ve all been there: you search for a common last name, click “Show More” under Contacts, and find yourself scrolling through a list of 200 people.

Now, you don’t have to scroll. We’ve added a secondary search bar directly inside the “Show More” pop-up. This allows you to refine your results on the fly. Find the specific record you need within a subset of data without ever having to go back and restart your search from scratch.

Search Results, Your Way

No two legal professionals work the same way. A personal injury lawyer might need to see Leads first, while a paralegal might prioritize Matters or Documents.

You can now customize the order in which module results appear. By prioritizing the categories most relevant to your specific role, you can find your most important data at the very top of the list every single time.

Clear the Noise: Open vs. Closed Records

Sometimes you need to look back at historical data; other times, you just want to see what’s on your plate today. To help you stay focused, we’ve introduced the Show Closed (Matters/Contacts/Leads) checkbox.

You now have the flexibility to decide whether Global Search includes closed matters and leads or hides them entirely. It’s a simple way to keep your workspace clean and relevant to your current caseload.

Your Search History, At a Glance

Retyping the same client name five times a day is a thing of the past. Our new Recent Search History feature automatically displays your 10 most recent search terms the moment you click into the search bar. This small change makes “picking up where you left off” faster than ever before.
